Katharine Lara Mrs. Twenge English 2 Intensive 2 June 2016 Dictators In the novel, Lord of the Flies, Jack is on the island with other children and he tries to be chief. He also kills piggy. Jack has red hair and he is wanting to become chief. Jack and Hitler are both dictators because they both want to brain wash people, they use resources to control them and they create common enemies. Jack and Hitler manipulate their followers. “enotes.com” states, “All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself… (Enotes) “Those who do not want to fight do not deserve to live.” Propaganda manipulates the people. Hitler is convincing them to stay on his side” Golding writes/”The conch does not count on top of the mountain” (page42) Jack is telling them what to do by disrespecting the conch shell. They only hear Jack. Jack and Hitler both make sure only their voices are heard. Jack and Hitler limited free speech. “Wiesenthal.com” states “Hitler and his minister of propaganda, Joseph Goebbels, staged nationwide book burnings on the night of May 10, 1933” (2) Golding writes, the conch shell. Jack only wants to be in charge. Jack and Hitler can only have their voices heard. (Golding page 142) Jack and Hitler are both violent. AZ Quotes states, “I desire a violent, domineering fearless, and ferocious upcoming generation. “ (1) This quote explains how Hitler was a violent man. Golding writes “you do not know Roger he’s a terror and the chief they’re both – “terrors – only Roger-“(3). This quote explains about how Sam n Eric are talking about Roger being chief. Jack and Hitler use violence to get what they want. Jack and Hitler are both the same because they both want to brainwash people, used resources to control others and they create common enemies. Katharine Lara Mrs. Twenge Period 4/5 Childhood Memory It was like around 12:00 in the afternoon when we finished eating our lunch. I was like around 8 years old. My Mom had decided to take me to the Santa Barbra County Fair to have lots of fun with her just mom and daughter bonding. My mom really wanted to do this for a long time she just hadn't had the time for it. So she decided today is the day for Mom and daughter bonding. When I first stepped inside the fair grounds I can see a lot of people with popcorn pizza and drinks. I saw a little kid with this glow in the dark toy that I thought was very cool back then. I saw a group of animals in a cage. They were so adorable that I really wanted to keep one all to myself. My Mom thought that it may be a good idea to pet the animals and to feed them with food and water so I did. It smelled really nasty like as if I was in a barn. I felt sick once I stopped feeding the animals. The next thing that me and my mom did at the fair was that we played those games that they had on the tents. My Mom had won me every time we played but what ever she had won she would always give it to me. She had won a goldfish, stuffed animal, and a stuffed panda. I was so happy when my Mom had gotten me all those things. It was like 5:00pm and my mom really wanted a hot dog with a soda. She had asked if I wanted anything at all but I said ''no'' because I wasn't that hungry. She told me “Katharine I'll be right back don't move from this spot okay. It will be very quick I promise”. So I sat there thinking “where would I want to go next”? I saw this ride that I really wanted to go to so bad that I couldn't even wait to go on it so I decided to go all by myself and not wait for my Mom to get back from buying what she wanted to buy. When I finished with the ride that I went on I came back to the same spot where my mom had gotten her food and she wasn't there I had thought about what she had first told me before coming here. She said “Katharine if you ever get lost go to a police officer and tell them that you got lost”. So I went to a police officer and told them that I couldn't find my mom. So then he said”okay let's go find her”. So then I went inside this really dark room when suddenly I saw my Mom. My Mom had tears in her eyes like as if she had just seen a scary movie. Suddenly my Mom had given me a huge hug crying and said “Why did you leave when I specifically told you not to honey.” I responded “because Mom I really wanted to go to this cool ride I just seen so I did”. She just laughed and said “don't do that ever again honey alright” and I responded okay mom this will NEVER happen again. So then we left and thanked the officers for there help and we left safe and sound. swag

Big Changes in China

Reflection

      Knew that china world's most populous country in east Asia. I think now that the only job In China is working in the factory. That's were the majority of teens work. They make toys, shirts and pants. I would honestly visit China because it seems cool.
 I didn't use prezi because I thought that it would be a lot of work to do. I also thought that it maybe a pain in the butt. I might try it next time. It was great working with power point. Easy bib was honestly boring and confusing. I would have added pictures and more color on it. I would have also added more texture to it.

                                                                  Maria's Story

                Maria Lara is tan. She has brown/black hair. She has light brown eyes. She was one day going for run by a carpet place. A few minutes later a car was coming towards her very fast like if as someone was chasing after it.  A guy had suddenly pushed her to the side. She said that she felt like as if she was in an action movie. She felt relived that the guy had pushed her to the side. If he wouldn't have done that she would've gotten hit by the car. When she had gotten home from her run she had told us the whole wild story. We were happy that she had gotten home safe and sound. She was also happy that she didn't get hit by the car. She said that she will no longer go for a run by the carpet place. That she would rather go for a run around the neighborhood.

My Unique World

In the early days, the clouds were rainbows. Trees were dark black. The grass was gray. The sun was orange. A god named Katharine was in charge of all the evil animals that wanted to rule the world. The god asked all the animals if they would like to change into good, but they all said, “No!!” The god was very disappointed at their response, so she decided to lock away all the animals and make humans instead.

The humans were very curious about why there were no animals. The god explained the whole story to them. Some of the humans still wanted animals in the world, but the god refused to give them what they wanted. They decided to have war over the animals. The god had some of the humans that absolutely did not want any animals versus the people that wanted animals.

 The next day, they had their war. It was horrible and there was blood all over. The humans who wanted animals won. They were so happy that animals could join there world, but the animals had to promise to be good. In the end, they did they promised to be good animals, as long as the god was nice to them.

            The world started to change little-by-little. It changed into a much more normal world with

 green grass, white clouds, and the god also added a nice blue sandy beach. She even added a bright

 yellow sun to make the days happier. The god was happy that all the little animals wanted to change.

The god enjoyed being with them and watched them play every day with the humans. The world was

 getting better and better each day because of what the god did. The god knew that she made the right

decision and that is how the world came to be
